Oriental Nilam College of Nursing and Health Sciences (Oriental Nilam) is a renowned institution that offers a variety of courses in the field of nursing and health sciences. Oriental Nilam was established with the realization that nurses are in demand not only in Malaysia but globally.

Courses offered by Oriental Nilam include:
(i) Diploma in Nursing
It is a 3 year course encompassing on-campus training and practical postings to hospitals for real-world nursing experience. The completion of this course will lead into the Malaysia Nursing Board Registration examination to be fully accredited as a nurse practitioner. The course is recognized by Lembaga Jururawat Malaysia (LJM). Students can opt to begin their career or pursue a Degree in Nursing thereafter.
(ii) Post-Basic Programme
Oriental Nilam also provides post-basic certification for critical care, perioperative nursing, orthopedic nursing and renal nursing which are popular and in-demand specializations. They require students to acquire 2 years on-the-job experience and commit at least 6 months to gain the certification.
(iii) Healthcare Assistant
Students who do not plan or may not qualify to pursue a nursing education but still want to build a career in this noble profession, can consider obtaining a qualification as a Healthcare Assistant. Students will be trained in basic nursing skills and acquire multi-disciplinary knowledge including understanding of anatomy and physiology, first-aid, interpersonal communication, psychology, and basic surgical skills. With a qualification as a healthcare assistant, a full fledged nursing diploma and career can then be pursued (with credit in mathematics and general science for SPM as well).
Oriental Nilam also offers various but limited scholarships such as full scholarship that covers tuition fee waiver, monthly allowance, medical benefits and guaranteed job placement upon graduation. The college partners with reputable hospitals that act as sponsors.
