The University’s history traces back to the 19th century with the founding of the Leeds School of Medicine in 1831 and the Yorkshire College of Science in 1874. Engineering Courses

The Schools of Engineering at the University of Leeds place in the UK’s Top 10 Best Subjects according to the Complete University Guide 2024.
Engineering students at the university will have a common first year which gives them the flexibility to switch between courses after their first year. There is also a possibility of transferring to a 4-year Master’s pathway after the second year. This allows students to fast-track and specialise in an interested field of their choice.
At the University of Leeds, Engineering students will start working on projects as early as their first year to help solve real-world problems. This is also bolstered by the amount of fieldwork students will have the opportunity to be a part of during their time studying.
