Location and Surrounding Vibe: As seen in the video, the MMU Cyberjaya campus occupies a huge 200 acre land housing multiple faculty buildings, a huge track and field site, olympic sized swimming pool, multiple sports and recreational facilities, nearby hostel accommodations and various amenities.

The campus itself is nestled in the Cyberjaya enclave, known as a digital and tech hub hosting many global companies you probably have heard of such as Microsoft, Huawei, AMD, Ansell, Experian, Dell, BMW and even Tesla.

The surrounding area pulsates with the energy and enthusiasm of tech-savvy students, tech firms, and innovative startups, contributing to an atmosphere of intellectual vibrancy. Despite the bustle, the campus is a stone’s throw away from tranquil parks and cafes, offering a serene escape from the rigours of academic life and providing a perfect backdrop for both focused study and relaxed socialisation.

If you drive your own transport, it is easy to get to anywhere in Cyberjaya and best of all, there is very little traffic.

Student Diversity: You will find MMU’s student community well balanced demographically with Malays, Chinese, Indians and other races co-mingling. It sits in a smaller land area of 50 acres but is certainly not short of top-notch facilities, including state-of-the-art research labs, a comprehensive library, and comfortable student accommodation.

In contrast to the fast-paced life of Cyberjaya, the surroundings of the Melaka campus are more idyllic. The rustic charm of Melaka city with its UNESCO World Heritage Site status, offers students a vibrant mix of history, culture, and leisure activities.

The Jonker Street, a bustling bazaar known for its antiques, street food, and weekend night market, is a short drive away, providing students a taste of local life. The Melaka River, with its scenic cruise rides, and the iconic A Famosa Fort, a relic of Portuguese colonial history, are popular spots among students for recreation and relaxation. Just like its counterpart in Cyberjaya, the MMU Melaka campus provides a holistic learning environment, balancing academic rigour with cultural and recreational experiences.

The MMU Law Degree, which is offered at the MMU Melaka Campus has always been in high demand outstripping its supply of seats available for students.

As a result, MMU law graduates fall within the definition of a ‘qualified person’ under the Legal Profession Act 1976 (Act 166), and may be admitted as advocates and solicitors in West Malaysia upon completion of the prescribed period of pupillage. MMU law graduates are also qualified to be admitted to the Bar in Sabah (State Gazette G.N.S. 7/2010) and Sarawak (Swk. L.N. 151).

This 3-year Degree programme provides a comprehensive “script-to-screen” method of filmmaking, where students begin with the basics of idea development up to producing and showcasing their work All Cinematic Arts students will work on developing short films from fiction films, documentaries to music videos. Students will receive mentorship from full-time lecturers and industry professionals.

KRU Foundation is one of MMU’s industry partners to aid in developing new talent in the field of digital entrepreneurship and creative content creation. Both parties will implement joint projects and activities to enrich the skills of students, especially from the Faculty of Business, the Faculty of Creative Multimedia, and the Faculty of Cinematic Arts.

Telecommunications Engineering

MMU being the brainchild of Telekom Malaysia, Malaysia’s national telecommunications provider, certainly can expect the best course for Telecommunications Engineering. As we become more dependent on mobile devices and the Internet to keep connected, telecommunications technology stays relevant and in demand.

In addition, industry collaborations with ZTE Corporation, a leading telecommunications technology company listed on the Hong Kong and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges, will establish 3 cutting-edge laboratories, namely, the “NexGen lab”, the “IDEAS lab” and the “Inspire and Innovate lab,”. The initiative will enhance lecture syllabi, launch research projects, provide scholarships, open up immersive internships and identify top talents for lucrative career opportunities in the telecommunications industry.
