Have you ever wondered what it takes to survive and thrive in law school? If you are on the hunt for the perfect Law course in Malaysia, the best way to find out is by hearing directly from the students who are living it every single day!
In a recent episode of “Uni Spills” by Uni Enrol, our host Angel Lim explored the beautiful and modern University of Reading Malaysia campus to catch up with Jerard, a passionate student currently pursuing his University of Reading Malaysia Law degree.
We transcribed this fun and insightful Q&A session to give you a behind-the-scenes look at the courtroom drama, the vital skills learned, and what it is really like to study Law at the University of Reading Malaysia.
Here is what Jerard had to spill about his journey at the University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM), Persiaran Graduan, Kota Ilmu, EduCity, 79200 Iskandar Puteri, Johor, Malaysia.!
Angel (Host): Hi! Let’s start with a quick introduction. What’s your name, and what are you currently studying?
Jerard (UoRM Student): Hi! My name is Jerard, and I am studying Law right now at the University of Reading Malaysia.
Angel: Law is such an intense and prestigious field! What is one of the best experiences that you’ve had so far here?
Jerard: I think two experiences really stand out to me!
Firstly, it is participating in the Mooting Competitions. In a mooting competition, it is essentially a legal debate where you act as an appellant or respondent. You go up in the competition acting as actual lawyers! It is a very insightful experience because you actually learn how things happen in a real courtroom setting.
Other than that, one of the things that has impacted me the most is probably when the law school invites guest speakers, for example, during career fairs or other campus events to come to the university and talk to the law students.

Angel: That sounds super helpful for networking! What makes the guest speakers so impactful for you?
Jerard: It is not only because of their legal knowledge, but mainly the way they convey their thoughts! I think the most important part of advocacy and being a lawyer is how well you can get your point across while making sure people actually understand you. Listening to these experienced professionals really helps you learn those skills.
Angel: Last question for you! Out of 10, how much would you rate the University of Reading Malaysia?
Jerard: In what aspect?
Angel: Let’s go with the quality of education!
Jerard: The quality of education? Oh, the quality of education is amazing. I’m not gonna lie or anything, the quality of education is definitely a 12 out of 10!
