Engineering Subjects

Studying Engineering at the University of Wollongong opens a student’s horizons! Within the first year itself, students have a chance to expose themselves to all study areas, before choosing from a range of 11 majors. 

Students will also experience hands-on learning in the classroom, with the help of a wide range of technologies, media and tools. The University of Wollongong also provides students with purpose built facilities such as:

• UOW Makerspace – Equipped with the latest 3D printing technology, laser cutters and printers, along with other general tools.

Nursing

The University of Wollongong’s School of Learning emphasises learning through, practice, which is why students will conduct over 840 hours of work-based placements during their time studying. These placements will be conducted in hospitals, aged care and community facilities.

Students will also benefit from learning through practice, with the help of clinical learning labs that consists of simulation wards. There is also an opportunity to participate in a wide range of volunteer and enrichment activities with the community, which can assist them in developing real-world skills as well!

Accounting Studies

The University of Wollongong employs the same “inquiry-based learning” that is seen in their Nursing course, where students will benefit from extra hours in building practical skills. Over the course of their studies, students will spend 140 hours of placement in a community, sporting, scientific or commercial exercise setting.
