1. 2024/2025 SPM Results Release Announcement
BREAKING NEWS! The Ministry of Education has announced that the SPM results will be released on 31 March 2026, 10:00 am.
Whether you are the type who prefers to do the big reveal with your closest friends or curl up in a dark room by yourself, the big day conjures a lot of feelings for thousands of Form 5s like yourself.
Keep calm. In this guide, we will provide you with options of what you can do after getting your results.
2. How To Check SPM Results
There are 3 ways you can check your results.
Method 1: Online
- Visit 🔗http://myresultspm.moe.gov.my/ (this page is only active on day of results release).
- From 31 March 2026 (10:00 am) until 6 April 2025 (6:00 pm).
- This applies to both school AND private candidates.
Method 2: SMS
- Type SPM<space>ICNumber<space>AngkaGiliran and send it to 15888.
- From 31 March 2026 (10:00 am) until 6 April 2025 (6:00 pm)
Method 3: Back to School!
- Time to collect from 31 March 2026 (10:00 am).
- Bring your MyKad and arrive early.
- Dress appropriately.

3. Which Pathways After SPM
What can I study after SPM? 🤔💭
We can break it down into 2 destinations: Private or Public universities.

To Private University
There are 3 common routes you can take when considering private higher education: International Pre-University, Foundation and Diploma courses. Each comes with different benefits.
1. International Pre-U
What Is It?
International Pre-U courses have overseas curricula that prepare you for a degree locally or overseas. Hence, their intake dates and academic styles will follow the country of origin. For example, A-level from the UK, and AUSMAT/SACE from Australia.

- Not sure which university to choose yet
- Undecided on your field of discipline.
- International recognition
- Plan to study overseas
- Duration: 1-1.5 years

2. Foundation Course
What Is It?
A Foundation course, as its name suggests, is a preparatory course you take before choosing a particular field of study for your degree. Foundation courses are developed by the university offering them.
In many universities, they are usually generalised (e.g. Foundation In Arts, Foundation in Science). However, some universities offer a more specific focus (e.g. Foundation in Business, Foundation in Engineering, Foundation in Science (Medicine) etc.)
Why Should I Study A Foundation Course?
- Know which university to enrol into.
- Undecided on the field of discipline.
- Generally cost less than Pre-U courses.
- Duration: 1 year

3. Diploma Courses
What Is It?
These are skill-based or industry programmes for students keen on practical learning. Diploma courses provide the foundation of skill building and boosting experiences for employment after completion.
Diploma programmes are heavy on practical learning. During your studies, your syllabus covers the industry-specific essentials of your chosen field.
Why Should I Study Diploma Courses?
- If you know the field you want
- Can work upon graduation or continue to degree
- Budget-friendly
- Duration: 2 – 2.5 years

To Public University
If enrolling into public universities is your wish, there are 2 options you can pursue: STPM, Matrikulasi or Asasi. These 3 routes will qualify you to apply to public universities in Malaysia through the Unit Pusat Universiti (UPU) system.

4. How To Appeal For Your SPM Results?
“What if I’m unhappy with my results?” For that, you can opt to have your results reevaluated by
- Getting the Application Form from your school, Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri, or Unit Pernilaian & Perperiksaan
- Or apply online by visiting 🔗https://elp.moe.gov.my/auth/login

Other important things to take note:
- There is a fee of RM100 for each subject re-evaluated.
- Your appeal results will only be available 2 months after the deadline.
5. How To Retake Any Failed Subjects
“Is there any way to save my failed subjects?”

Don’t worry. You can turn those around, and here’s how.
- Register at “Dafter Calon Mengulang”
- Remember to include and check your I/C Number, your previous SPM exam year, and your Angka Giliran.
- Next, complete the other necessary details and click “Teruskan”.
- Select your subjects (This is also where your fees will be displayed)
- Ensure that you choose the same number of subjects as the number you have entered.
- If there are more than 10 subjects, your electives will be listed as mata pelajaran tambahan
- CHECK ALL YOUR DETAILS veeeerrryyy thoroughly and SUBMIT!
- Click “OK” when the verification pop-up appears
- Lastly, make your payment, and you are done!
