Today, our host Angel Lim explored the modern IMU University campus to catch up with Yuan Mei, a passionate student currently enrolled in a highly unique tech program. If you are searching for the perfect Digital Health course in Malaysia, you need to hear what Yuan Mei has to say about her university journey!

We recorded this fun and insightful Q&A session to give you a true, student-perspective look at what it is like to study Digital Health in IMU University.

Let’s dive into the interview, only at 126, Jln Jalil Perkasa 19, Bukit Jalil, 57000 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur!

Angel (Host): Hello! Let’s start with a quick introduction. What’s your name, and what are you currently studying?

Yuan Mei (Student): Hi! My name is Yuan Mei, and currently, I am studying Digital Health at IMU University.

Angel: There are so many IT and computing degrees out there. Can you share with us why you chose to study the IMU University Digital Health program specifically?

Yuan Mei: I chose this program because it perfectly blends healthcare and technology. It offers incredible hands-on experience and has very strong industry links. I am confident that studying here will equip me with the exact skills I need to contribute meaningfully to the digital transformation happening right now in healthcare!

Angel: What inspired you to pursue this specific Digital Health course in Malaysia in the first place?

Yuan Mei: I have always been passionate about using technology to solve real-world problems, especially in the medical field. Seeing how innovative tools like telemedicine, data analytics, and smart wearables are changing the world really inspired me to pursue digital health.

Angel: That is so inspiring! What is your biggest aspiration for your future career?

Yuan Mei: In the future, I aspire to create user-friendly tech solutions that directly help patients and improve their overall health outcomes and experiences. At the same time, I hope to play a key role in shaping a healthcare ecosystem that is more connected, patient-centred, and sustainable.

Angel: Okay, bonus question! What is your absolute favourite subject that you have learned so far on the IMU University campus?

Yuan Mei: My favourite subject, I would say, is called “Human-Computer Interaction”! It is all about web design and a little bit of programming. We learned how to use a design platform called Figma, which we use to build visual components for the web. Basically, it teaches us the foundation of how to do web and app design.

Angel: And you really like the creative side of the course?

Yuan Mei: Yeah! It is very fun because you get to choose the colours and the design components. You are very free to do your own designing!
