🩺 Hands-On Training from Day One
When it comes to medical school, practical experience is just as important as reading textbooks. Dr Saravana kicked off the tour by bringing Angel into the Anatomy Dissection Hall.
Unlike many other medical schools that delay hands-on cadaveric dissection until later years, SEGI University is one of the few institutions that allows students to practice hands-on training with real cadavers right in their very first year! This incredibly early exposure helps students understand the human body inside and out, making it much easier to learn critical surgical skills like making incisions and suturing during their later clinical years.
Right next door is the Anatomy Museum, which houses a massive range of anatomical models. Featuring both real specimens and plastinated models that cover every part of the human body, this museum is designed as a supplementary learning tool, especially for students who might be allergic to formalin (the chemical used to preserve real cadavers).
💉 Practising in the Clinical Skills Lab
Before treating real people, medical students need a safe environment to make mistakes and perfect their techniques. This takes place in the Clinical Skills Lab, an area equipped with hospital beds and highly realistic patient mannequins.
From Year 1, students use these “simulated patients” to practice essential medical procedures, such as drawing blood, performing CPR, and conducting routine clinical examinations, ensuring they are fully confident before setting foot into a real hospital ward.

Perhaps the biggest reason to study Medicine at SEGI University is the unparalleled clinical exposure students receive in the second half of their degree.
After completing their first two pre-clinical years at the main SEGI University campus, students transition to their Clinical Campus located in Sibu, Sarawak, for Years 3, 4, and 5.
