Location and Surrounding Vibe: Occupying a 20-acre expanse in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, the campus enjoys convenient walking-distance proximity to various amenities such as banks, restaurants, transportation services, entertainment venues, and accommodation options. Boasting full wireless connectivity, it is equipped with cutting-edge technology, providing seamless access to the realm of e-learning and electronic resources.
Comprising seven distinct blocks, including the Student Centre (Menara Gading), the Resource Centre, Academic Blocks, and Residential Halls, the campus is designed to comfortably house a student population exceeding 15,000. Sporting enthusiasts can make use of facilities like basketball, badminton, and squash courts, a gymnasium, a football field, and a swimming pool. The campus also features a four-level library, an auditorium, a recital hall, a multi-purpose hall, computer laboratories, bookstores, cafeterias, and an Apple Experience Centre.
Ease of Accessibility to Campus: The location of the Cheras Campus is very strategic as it is only a 30 minutes drive to the heart of Kuala Lumpur city centre and 20 minutes drive to Mid Valley Mega Mall, one of the largest shopping malls in Malaysia.
For students who are staying on campus, there are free shuttle buses that run between the campus and Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) located in Bandar Tasik Selatan, which is the bus station in Kuala Lumpur. The station also serves as an interchange for the KTM commuter line, LRT Railway and KLIA transit trains.

UCSI collaborates with industries to establish specialised labs, ensuring students stay abreast of the latest industrial practices. For example, laboratories have been established in collaboration with National Instruments and RICOH under the School of Engineering and the School of Information Technology, respectively.
UCSI Kuching Campus focuses on business, hospitality and culinary courses. 2.8 UCSI Cheras Hostel Accommodations
On-Campus: At the UCSI Cheras campus there are 2 on-campus accommodation options. The accommodations, called Residential Halls, are within the enclosure of the campus, thus providing a better sense of security for students.
There are 2 blocks dedicated for student accommodation, Block D and E. Block D comprises rooms with twin sharing only while Block E, a newer place has limited single room with en-suite bathroom availability. The accommodations are segregated into male and female quarters with a common visiting area for family and friends.
You can expect air-conditioning, laundry service, the very essential 24-hours Wifi service, in-house cafeteria and prayer rooms.

Off-Campus: UCSI also manages an off-campus location nearby called Angkasa Condominium where students rent rooms in unit apartments. Each unit has a spacious living room, dining and kitchen area with a common bathroom. All units are fully furnished with air-conditioning, fans, fridge, and study tables. For recreational activities there is a gym, badminton court and swimming pool. The convenience of a shuttle bus service between the accommodation site to the campus is available.
Accommodation Costs: On-campus Block D costs RM700 per month per student while Block E ranges from RM750 – RM900 for twin sharing rooms and RM1,600 to RM1,800 for single rooms. The off-campus accommodation monthly cost per room ranges between RM650 to RM1,300 which also depends on the size of the room and whether single or twin sharing.
Living Cost: General cost of living, excluding accommodation, for students studying in Cheras which is part of Kuala Lumpur, typically ranges between RM800 and RM1,200 per month. This would cover expenses like food, transportation, books, and miscellaneous personal expenses. Please note, these are estimates and actual costs may vary based on individual lifestyle and choices.

2.9 UCSI Kuching Campus Accommodation
Off-Campus: The Kuching Campus manages off-campus accommodations. Rooms are fully furnished in twin-sharing or single room configuration. Off campus accommodations are just an 8-minutes walk from the campus, nevertheless students are entitled to daily scheduled shuttle trips to and from the campus, as well as weekend trips to downtown shopping malls for shopping and entertainment.


Accommodation Costs: RM550 – RM950 per month per room depending on twin sharing or single and also depending on the configuration of the room.
Living Cost: Living cost in Sarawak is quite affordable and students can live comfortably with RM600 to RM800 per month (excluding accommodation costs). 2.10 UCSI Springhill (Seremban) Accommodation
Off-Campus: UCSI Springhill’s off-campus hostel provides a serene and pleasant environment for academic pursuit. Equipped with WIFI, there’s spacious room for common gathering and dining, the dining area is equipped with dining tables and chairs. The kitchen is equipped with an induction cooker, refrigerator and kitchen cabinet. Common bathroom with hot shower and washing machine for laundry. The master bedroom has an attached toilet and hot shower.

PTPTN Financial Aids
Malaysian students can apply for the National Higher Education Fund or PTPTN which is responsible for giving loans to students pursuing tertiary education. PTPTN falls under the purview of the Ministry of Higher Education.
You can borrow from RM3,400 to a maximum RM50,000 per annum depending on the level and type of course you are taking. PTPTN only charges an annual interest rate of about 1%.

As a degree student, taking courses such as accounting, finance and logistics will secure you the following exemptions and recognition:
- Maximum accounting exam paper exemptions to gain professional certification such as ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW etc. For example, 9 out of 14 papers are exempted for ACCA.
- FAA and FPAM recognition for certain finance courses and 2 out of 4 exam modules exemptions towards attaining FPAM certification.
- Recognition by Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and full exemption for the professional qualifying examination.
Almost all the degree courses will involve a final year independent project which requires students to perform in-depth research work or work with industry’s partners. UCSI is widely known for its hospitality and culinary courses through its bold investment in building 2 actual hospitals in its Cheras Campus and Kuching Campus, as these are tourist centric destinations. The hotels are named Le Quadri Hotel (Cheras, KL) and UCSI Hotel Kuching respectively.

Health Sciences Courses
UCSI is becoming a serious healthcare education provider in Malaysia especially with the opening of the UCSI Springhill Campus in 2021 that was built alongside the UCSI Hospital, a dedicated full fledged hospital with the aspiration to nurture world class medical students.

You can choose to specialise in Classical or Contemporary music. Upon graduation, you will be equipped with the core skills to not just perform live and in recording environments but behind the scene careers such as teaching, composing, producing, publishing, broadcasting and music business management and marketing.
One of the strongest attractions of the music courses in UCSI is that many successful music artists who have stamped their name both locally and internationally are invited back to mentor students. Art & Design
UCSI De Institute of Creative Arts and Design is the faculty that offers 3D Animation, Graphic Design, Game Design, Multimedia Design, and Fashion Design.
This field of study is ranked in the Top 151-200 globally on the QS World University Rankings under the subject category of Arts & Design. To be in the Top 200 is noteworthy and is not the result of just a successful graduate track record but also industry benchmarked syllabus, hand-on pedagogy and research performed by the faculty in the space of fashion branding, corporate identity and so on.
Fashion design workshops, 3D animation labs and high-powered computer labs are ready for students to hone their skills under the tutelage of experienced academics and established veterans.
All students are required to seek internships in their final year and will also be involved in many projects, showcases, and industry partner collaborations (Nestle, VIVO, L’OCCITANE, Pavillion Mall, Starbucks etc).
Engineering – Petroleum and Chemical
The Engineering Faculty of UCSI offers various engineering studies such as civil, mechanical, electronics, mechatronics, computer, and environmental.
But 2 of its courses stand out the most which are the Bachelors in Petroleum Engineering and Bachelors in Chemical Engineering which are ranked in the Top 101-150 and Top 350-400 of the QS World University Rankings respectively. Both are recognised by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
Both these disciplines are decked-out with state-of-the-art labs such as Advanced Chemical Technology Laboratory, Thermofluid and Process Engineering Laboratory, Industrial Chemistry Laboratory and Petrochemical Laboratory. The Built Environment faculty and its courses were introduced almost 20 years ago and since then, the Architecture and Interior Architecture facilities have expanded into a 2-storey workshop housing various machineries, equipment and tools for many students to work on their projects.
The courses are recognised as LAM Accredited Architecture Part 1. All of UCSI University’s Architecture & Interior Architecture degree programmes comply with the latest requirements for accreditation by the Council of Architectural Accreditation & Education Malaysia (CAAEM), Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM).
